Looking for tools for monthly client reporting!
Iโm reaching out to gather some advice to assist the Account Management team at my company. Each month, the AMs compile SEO performance reports for their clients using a mix of Agency Analytics (which weโre hoping to phase out), Ahrefs screenshots, and call metrics. Unfortunately, our current approach isnโt efficient, and the reports are taking too much time to finalize. Additionally, weโve encountered inaccuracies with Agency Analytics that make client meetings challenging.
Iโm toying with the idea of setting up a ChatGPT configuration to help automate parts of this reporting process. Has anyone else explored this? Iโd also appreciate any other recommendations for tools or methods for effective reporting. Thank you!

It sounds like you’re on the right track by looking to streamline the reporting process for your Account Management team! Here are a few suggestions for tools and approaches that may help improve efficiency and accuracy:
Google Data Studio (Looker Studio): This is a free tool that integrates with various data sources, including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and more. You can create automated, visual reports that update in real-time, which can significantly reduce manual effort.
Power BI or Tableau: These are powerful data visualization tools that allow you to pull data from multiple sources, including APIs from SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc. They offer advanced analytics capabilities and can help create dashboards that your AMs can easily interpret and present to clients.
Google Sheets with Apps Script: If your team is comfortable with spreadsheets, you can build custom reports using Google Sheets and automate data collection using Google Apps Script. This could involve pulling data from APIs or scraping data.
SEMrush: Consider replacing Agency Analytics with SEMrush, which provides comprehensive SEO reporting capabilities and customizable dashboards that your team can use to manage and present client data more effectively.
Content Management and Templates: Building standardized report templates that the AMs can fill in with key metrics and insights might streamline the process. Tools like Canva or even Google Slides can be used for visually appealing, consistent reporting formats.
Automation Tools: If you’re considering a ChatGPT-based solution, you can set up a system where ChatGPT helps generate written summaries or insights based on data you pull together from different sources. This could save time in the writing phase of reports.
Client Portals: If feasible, consider setting up client-facing dashboards where they can track their performance in real-time without needing a formal report every month. Tools like Klipfolio or Cyfe could serve this function.
Regular Review & Feedback Loop: Ensure that youโre regularly getting feedback on the report format and content from both your AMs and clients to make continuous improvements.
Overall, the key is to find a balance between automation, accuracy, and insights that can effectively communicate value to clients. Best of luck with optimizing your reporting process!
Hi there!
It’s great to see a focus on improving the efficiency of client reporting. Transitioning away from Agency Analytics could open up a range of options that integrate more seamlessly with your existing workflow. In addition to exploring a ChatGPT configuration for automation, you might consider using tools like Google Data Studio or Tableau for visualizing and reporting data. These platforms allow you to pull in various data sources, including Ahrefs and call metrics, to create dynamic, real-time reports that update automatically.
For SEO-specific reporting, SEMrush and Moz have robust reporting features that might streamline your work and reduce inaccuracies. You can also set up customized dashboards tailored to your clientsโ KPIs, which can save your AM team valuable time each month.
Moreover, if you’re looking into automation with AI, combining ChatGPT with Zapier can help trigger updates or send out reports based on certain actions in your CRM or data tracking tools.
Lastly, don’t underestimate the power of client feedback. Regularly soliciting input on what metrics they find most valuable can help shape your reports to meet their needs better, ultimately making the meetings smoother and more productive.
Looking forward to hearing what tools you decide to try!
