Which is more valuable: a backlink from a footer or one from the main body of a landing page? I have a chance to secure a backlink from one of our suppliers. I can either have a straightforward link to our service featured on their landing page or a smaller link in their footer, which would create a backlink on every page of their website.
Is there a significant difference between the two options, or does it not make much of a difference?
One response to “Is it better to have backlink from a footer or from a landing page body?”
When considering backlinks, the context and placement of the link can significantly impact its value for SEO.
A link placed within the main content of a landing page is generally considered more valuable. This is because search engines view content-driven links as more relevant and authoritative. The contextual relevance of the link (how it relates to the surrounding content) can also boost its effectiveness in improving your rankings.
Backlink from the Footer:
Conclusion: If you have the option, opting for the backlink in the landing page body is typically the better choice. It is likely to provide more SEO value due to its relevance and position within the content. However, if the landing page has lower authority or traffic, the footer link could still be beneficial as it will appear across a larger number of pages. Ideally, if you can negotiate, getting both would be the best outcome to maximize the backlink benefits.
