How can we define artificial intelligence (AI)?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, particularly computer systems. This encompasses a variety of advanced technologies and methods, including Machine Learning, natural language processing, robotics, and expert systems. AI systems can perform tasks that typically require human cognitive functions, such as understanding language, recognizing patterns, solving problems, and making decisions.

AI can be categorized into two main types: narrow AI, which is designed for specific tasks (like voice assistants and recommendation systems), and general AI, which aims to replicate human intelligence across a wide range of activities (though this remains largely theoretical and has not yet been achieved). The field of AI is continuously evolving, driven by advancements in algorithms, computing power, and the availability of large datasets, leading to its integration into various sectors such as healthcare, finance, transportation, and entertainment.
