How can we define artificial intelligence (AI)?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. This encompasses a variety of capabilities, including learning from experience (machine learning), understanding natural language (natural language processing), recognizing patterns (computer vision), and making decisions. AI can be classified into two primary types: narrow AI, which is designed for specific tasks (like facial recognition or internet search), and general AI, which would possess the ability to understand and learn any intellectual task that a human can do. AI systems utilize algorithms and large data sets to improve their performance over time, often operating without human intervention. Applications of AI span numerous fields, including healthcare, finance, transportation, and entertainment, fundamentally transforming the way we live and work.
