Developing an Event-Centric Social App: Insights on Team Structure and Early-Stage Planning
Launching a new mobile application is an exciting journey, especially when the goal is to foster community, encourage social interactions, and help users explore their surroundings. In this post, we share our initial concept for an app tailored for groups interested in organizing events, connecting with peers, and discovering new experiences in their city. We also seek advice on assembling an effective founding team for this venture.
Our Vision for the App
At its core, our idea is to create a supportive, community-oriented platformโnot merely a scheduling tool but a space where users can feel connected, socialize, and explore together. We aim to facilitate organic interactions and shared experiences, making social outings more accessible and engaging.
Current Team Configuration
In the early stages, weโre considering a small, focused team composed of four members:
- A marketing specialist, responsible for user outreach and brand positioning
- A graphic designer to develop visual identity and user interface assets
- A full-stack software developer managing core development, IT support, and technical maintenance
- An additional full-stack developer with expertise in integrating AI-driven features into the app
Our team is currently remote, and we have not yet established a physical office space.
Seeking Community Input
As we plan our next steps, we would appreciate insights from experienced entrepreneurs and developers. Specifically, weโre curious about:
-
Is this team composition adequate for building an initial prototype and supporting a successful launch?
-
Are there critical roles or skill sets we might be overlooking or should consider adding at this stage?
-
Do you have recommendations for effectively building and managing a small, fully remote startup team?
Thank You for Your Feedback
We value any advice or insights you can provide as we embark on this development journey. Your experience and suggestions will be instrumental in refining our approach and increasing our chances of success.
Looking forward to engaging with the community and hearing your thoughts!
