Launching an Open-Source Marketplace: Basic Dashboard Features Now Ready
In an exciting development, I am pleased to share the progress on a new project aimed at creating a versatile, open-source marketplace platform. Initially envisioned as a simple store and blog dedicated to selling art, this project has evolved into a comprehensive marketplace solution with core functionalities now in place.
The journey began with a focus on building a headless content management system (CMS) using Astro, a modern static site generator. Leveraging the flexibility of headless architecture, I integrated Strapi, an open-source headless CMS, alongside UI libraries such as Mantine and Tailwind CSS to craft a clean, responsive user interface.
This week, I addressed several bugs and enhanced the platformโs foundational features. Users now have the ability to securely log in, create dedicated sites, and manage their content seamlessly. These improvements mark a significant milestone in transforming the project from a simple blog into a more dynamic marketplace.
Looking ahead, I plan to expand on these features, improve user experience, and introduce additional functionalities that will support both vendors and buyers in a thriving digital marketplace. Stay tuned for further updates as development continues on this open-source venture.
