Described tummy ache to GPT, told me to go to ER. CT scan says appendicitis.

From Chatbot to Hospital: A Journey Through Appendicitis

Today, I want to share my unexpected adventure that began with a peculiar stomach ache and ended with an emergency room visit and a surgery for appendicitis.

Earlier today, I experienced a strange and persistent pain in my abdomenโ€”something that left me feeling quite uneasy for nearly seven hours. In hopes of understanding my symptoms better, I turned to an AI for guidance. After analyzing my description, the chatbot advised me to seek immediate medical attention at the emergency room.

Upon arriving at the hospital, I faced a bit of skepticism from the medical staff, including both the nurse and the doctor. Their condescending attitudes made me question if I was overreacting. However, I remained vigilant, and luckily, I had complied with the AIโ€™s suggestion.

After undergoing a CT scan, the results confirmed my fears: I had appendicitis. The medical team acknowledged that it was fortunate I sought help when I did, and surgery was scheduled for either that night or the following day.

UPDATE: I’m now home recuperating after surgery. I can’t thank you all enough for your support during this unexpected turn of events. It’s a reminder of the importance of listening to our bodiesโ€”and sometimes, to a little AI guidance.
