Introducing a Free and Ad-Free Scrum Poker Tool for Agile Teams

In the world of Agile project management, Scrum Poker is an essential activity that facilitates effective planning and collaboration. However, many existing online tools come with limitations—whether it’s intrusive ads, restrictive usage policies, or costs that add up over time.

To address these issues, I developed a straightforward Scrum Poker web application designed to be accessible and free for all users. Unlike some of the popular options, this tool offers a clean experience without ads. It supports guest logins, allowing team members to quickly participate in story point estimations without the need for registration or complicated setups.

My team previously relied on another platform, but we often encountered disruptive advertisements, and ad blockers didn’t always do the trick. Additionally, organizational browser restrictions—such as limited support for privacy-focused browsers like Brave—made it challenging to use certain tools effectively.

With this project, my goal was to create a niche-specific solution that improves the user experience for Agile teams while promoting a clutter-free internet. Moreover, building this application provided a valuable learning opportunity, particularly around implementing real-time features with Mercure protocol, which I now understand better.
