Perform a chin-up to rescue a cat — Developing a web-based fitness game with Mediapipe and Three.js (Variation 12)

Innovative Web-Based Workout Game Combines Fitness and Fun with Computer Vision Technology

Are you looking for a unique way to stay motivated during your workout routine? Imagine a game that encourages physical activity by integrating real-time body tracking with engaging gameplay. That’s exactly what I’ve been developing—a browser-based workout game that combines the power of computer vision with interactive elements.

Currently, you can try a live demo of the game here: https://www.funwithcomputervision.com/chinup/. In this game, players perform chin-ups to save adorable virtual animals. Additionally, I’ve included a push-up mode, and users have the option to select whether they want to rescue cats or dogs as part of the challenge.

The core technology behind this project includes Microsoft’s MediaPipe for real-time pose estimation, three.js for creating engaging 3D visuals, and Tone.js for sound effects, ensuring an immersive experience.

This is an ongoing project, and I’m eager to expand its features. If you have suggestions for other exercises or feedback to improve gameplay, I’d love to hear from you. Stay tuned for updates as I refine this interactive fitness experience!

Feel free to explore the demo and join the fun—let’s make exercising exciting again!
