I made a scrum poker app coz the other ones had too many ads, weren’t free or had restrictions.

Introducing a Clean, Ad-Free Scrum Poker Tool for Agile Teams

In the pursuit of a streamlined collaborative experience, I developed a dedicated Scrum poker application aimed at addressing common frustrations with existing tools. Many available options are cluttered with intrusive advertisements, come with usage restrictions, or require paid subscriptions, which can hinder smooth team workflows.

My solution is a straightforward, user-friendly platform that allows team members to participate via guest login and cast votes on user story points effortlessly. The design keeps things simpleโ€”no unnecessary features or ads slowing you down.

Our team previously used a different service, but frequent ads and browser restrictions, especially on browsers like Brave, made for a suboptimal experience. This inspired me to create a more flexible, accessible alternative that can be used across various environments without intrusion.

Beyond the functional improvements, this project also provided me with a valuable opportunity to delve into modern web protocols. Specifically, I explored Mercureโ€”a real-time update protocolโ€”which enhanced my understanding of real-time communication in web applications.

My goal is to develop more specialized tools that cater to niche needs, helping to ease the pain of excessive subscriptions and paid features for common tasks. At the very least, building this app helped me grow my skills and contribute to a more pleasant online tooling landscape.
