Introducing a Clean, Ad-Free Scrum Poker Application – Designed with Teams in Mind

In the world of Agile project management, efficient and distraction-free tools are essential. Recognizing the limitations of existing Scrum Poker apps—often plagued with ads, restrictive features, or paid plans—I developed a straightforward, user-friendly alternative that prioritizes simplicity and accessibility.

This newly created Scrum Poker platform allows teams to log in as guests and easily cast votes on story points for various user stories. It’s a no-frills solution aimed at teams seeking a reliable, free, and ad-free environment to facilitate planning sessions without interruptions.

My team has previously used other tools that were heavily supported by advertisements. However, intrusive ads and inconsistent ad-blocker effectiveness, combined with browser restrictions—particularly on secure browsers like Brave—made the experience less than ideal. This inspired me to craft a more seamless solution.

Beyond the practical benefits, this project provided a valuable learning opportunity. I delved into the Mercure protocol, enhancing my understanding of real-time data synchronization and server-sent events, which was an enriching experience.

I hope to continue developing niche yet practical tools that help simplify our online experiences, aiming to reduce dependencies on costly subscriptions for basic productivity needs.
