Introducing YWhois: Enhanced IP, Domain, and ASN Lookup via RDAP

In today’s digital landscape, having quick and reliable access to technical information about IP addresses, domains, and Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs) is essential for network administrators, cybersecurity professionals, and domain enthusiasts alike. To serve this need, Iโ€™ve developed YWhoisโ€”a comprehensive tool that leverages RDAP technology to provide detailed lookup capabilities.

Since launching the project last year, I’ve implemented several improvements to enhance its performance and reliability. One notable challenge was encountering rate limiting during periods of high traffic, which impacted user experience. To address this, I introduced multiple worker servers, which now distribute the load more effectively, ensuring smoother and faster queries for all users.

It’s somewhat surprising that the public RDAP servers operated by domain registrars impose such restrictive API usage limits, especially considering RDAP’s purpose as a modern, standardized replacement for traditional WHOIS queries. Despite these limitations, I remain committed to optimizing YWhois to offer the best possible service to the community.
