Introducing a Minimalist Scrum Poker Tool for Agile Teams
In the world of Agile development, efficient planning and team consensus are vital. Recognizing some of the limitations with existing Scrum poker applications—such as intrusive advertisements, restrictive usage policies, and accessibility issues—I decided to create a straightforward, ad-free alternative.
This lightweight Scrum poker platform allows team members to participate seamlessly through guest login, casting votes on story points for user stories without the clutter of advertisements or lengthy installations. Designed with simplicity in mind, it aims to streamline your planning sessions and eliminate common pain points.
My team previously used a popular supply of online Scrum poker tools, but the frequent ads and browser restrictions—especially on browsers like Brave—hampered our experience. By developing this tool, I hope to provide a cleaner, more accessible option for agile teams seeking a hassle-free planning solution.
Beyond the practical benefits, this project offered me an excellent opportunity to delve deeper into real-time communication protocols, specifically Mercure. Gaining a better understanding of this technology has been a rewarding part of the journey.
