Building a Personal Blog: From Backend Expertise to Front-End Simplicity
As a seasoned .NET backend developer, I’m accustomed to working behind the scenes—designing systems that operate seamlessly but remain unseen by users. Stepping into the realm of front-end development to create a public website was a new experience that presented both challenges and opportunities for growth.
My goal was to establish a straightforward, lightweight platform where I could share insights and highlight some of the reusable libraries I’ve developed. After exploring various options, I settled on 11ty (Eleventy) due to its speed, ease of use, and flexibility.
Throughout this project, I gained valuable insights into front-end development and web performance. It was a refreshing departure from my usual tasks such as memory optimization, garbage collection, or debugging multithreaded race conditions.
Today, I’m excited to share my project with you: the ByteAether Blog. I’ve included Lighthouse performance benchmarks to showcase its efficiency. I hope you find the content engaging and inspiring—sometimes, stepping outside your comfort zone leads to the most rewarding results.
