IDeveloped a Scrum Poker App Due to Excessive Ads, Limited Free Features, and Restrictions in Existing Options

Introducing a Clean, Free Scrum Poker Tool for Agile Teams

In the world of agile project management, conducting effective sprint planning sessions is crucial. However, many existing Scrum Poker applications come with limitationsโ€”be it intrusive ads, restrictive usage policies, or costs that add up over time. Recognizing these challenges, I took the initiative to develop a straightforward, hassle-free Scrum Poker app aimed at teams seeking a simple, ad-free solution.

This tool is designed with usability in mind. Teams can effortlessly log in as guests and collaboratively vote on story points for various user stories. The focus was on creating an unobtrusive experienceโ€”free from ads and restrictionsโ€”that facilitates smooth and efficient planning sessions.

My team previously used a different platform, but the persistent ads and browser restrictionsโ€”particularly on browsers like Braveโ€”made it less than ideal. With this project, I wanted to address those pain points and build something niche yet practical, reducing reliance on paid subscriptions for basic tools and improving the overall experience.

Developing this application also offered a valuable opportunity for me to dive deeper into real-time communication protocols, specifically Mercure, which I now understand better. Itโ€™s a small achievement, but one I value as part of the process.

Feel free to check out the live version of the app here: https://scrum-poker.space/

My goal is to continue creating useful, lightweight tools that serve specific needs without unnecessary distractions or costsโ€”making the internet a little less subscription-dependent, one project at a time.
