Confession of a Backend Developer: I Created a Blog (Need CSS Tips) – Variation 17

Building a Personal Blog as a Backend Developer: A Journey in Front-End Development

Transitioning from a .NET backend developer to creating a public-facing website presented an exciting new challenge—crafting a lightweight, accessible platform to share insights and display reusable libraries. My expertise lies predominantly in server-side systems, where the focus is on complex backend architectures seldom visible to end users. Stepping into front-end territory required me to explore tools and workflows outside my usual scope.

I opted to use 11ty (Eleventy) for its impressive speed and minimalism. The experience has been educational and rewarding, offering a refreshing departure from the technical intricacies of memory optimization, garbage collection, and multithreading troubleshooting that dominate my daily work.

Today, I’m excited to share my project: the ByteAether Blog, a personal website where I can showcase my ideas and projects. Alongside the site, I’ve included Lighthouse performance benchmarks to highlight its efficiency.

I hope this serves as inspiration for fellow developers looking to venture into front-end development or build their own lightweight personal sites. Feel free to explore and share your thoughts!
