Building a Personal Blog as a Backend Developer: My Experience and Request for CSS Tips
As a seasoned backend developer specializing in the .NET framework, my expertise has always been rooted in system architecture, backend logic, and server-side processesโareas that often remain hidden from end-users. Venturing into front-end development by creating a publicly accessible website was an entirely different experience for me, filled with new challenges and valuable lessons.
My goal was to develop a simple, fast, and lightweight platform to share my insights and showcase some of the reusable libraries I’ve developed over time. After researching various static site generators, I settled on 11ty (Eleventy) for its straightforward setup, speed, and flexibility.
Throughout this project, I gained a deeper understanding of web performance optimization, static site generation, and front-end fundamentals. It was a refreshing departure from my usual work with memory management, garbage collection, and multi-threaded debuggingโan invigorating change of pace.
Today, Iโm excited to share a glimpse of my work: my personal blog, ByteAether Blog. Iโve also included performance benchmarks from Lighthouse to demonstrate the websiteโs efficiency.
If anyone has suggestions or examples of CSS customization to enhance the visual appeal of my site, Iโd be grateful for your insights. Looking forward to hearing your feedback and ideas!
Feel free to check out the site and let me know what you think!
