Introducing yWhois: Enhanced IP, Domain, and ASN Lookup with RDAP

In the ever-evolving landscape of domain management and network diagnostics, having reliable lookup tools is essential. Recently, I revisited my yWhois project—a comprehensive platform designed for IP, domain, and Autonomous System Number (ASN) inquiries utilizing the RDAP protocol.

Since its initial launch, I’ve implemented several enhancements to improve performance and reliability. One notable challenge was managing high traffic volumes, which led to rate-limiting issues. To address this, I integrated multiple worker servers, ensuring smoother operation even during peak usage.

It’s somewhat perplexing that a registrar’s RDAP service would enforce tight API usage restrictions—considering RDAP is intended to serve as a modern, standardized alternative to the traditional WHOIS protocol. Nonetheless, I remain optimistic that these improvements will create a more seamless experience for users.
