Introducing a Clean, Ad-Free Scrum Poker Tool for Agile Teams

In the world of Agile development, effective planning and team collaboration are key. Recognizing the frustrations many teams face with existing Scrum poker applications—such as intrusive ads, usage restrictions, and limited accessibility—I decided to develop my own simple, streamlined solution.

My goal was to create an easy-to-use Scrum poker app that eliminates distractions and barriers. The platform allows team members to log in as guests and collaboratively vote on story points for user stories, facilitating smooth planning sessions without unnecessary complications.

While I’ve used other tools in the past, I found that many were marred by excessive advertising, which could interfere with focus during meetings. Ad blockers often helped, but they weren’t always reliable, especially since our team employs restricted browsers like Brave, further limiting options.

This project is part of my broader effort to craft practical, niche tools that address common pain points—aiming to reduce reliance on subscription-based services for basic needs. Building this app not only provided a useful resource but also offered me an opportunity to deepen my understanding of real-time protocols like Mercure, which underpins the app’s live communication features.
