Launching a New Open Source Marketplace: Core Dashboard Features Now Live
Exciting Progress on My Marketplace Project
I am excited to share the latest updates on my journey to develop a new online marketplace tailored for creative artists. Initially envisioned as a simple storefront or blog, this project has evolved into a fully functional marketplace platform.
My typical workflow involves leveraging Astro for building fast, static sites, but this project has expanded into a more dynamic, headless content management system (CMS). To achieve this, I integrated Strapi, an open-source headless CMS, which provides the backbone for managing and structuring content efficiently.
Recent Developments and Feature Enhancements
This week, I focused on refining the core features of the marketplace dashboard. The progress is encouraging: users can now securely log in, set up new storefronts, and start editing content directly through the dashboard. These foundational capabilities are essential for enabling artists and vendors to showcase their work seamlessly.
Tech Stack and Tools Used
- Strapi: powering the backend CMS, facilitating easy content management
- Mantine: providing a modern, responsive UI component library for a polished user interface
- Tailwind CSS: ensuring a sleek, customizable styling approach that enhances user experience
Next Steps
Looking ahead, I plan to expand the platformโs features, improve usability, and develop additional tools to support both vendors and buyers. Stay tuned for further updates as this open-source project evolves into a comprehensive marketplace solution.
