Built a doc upload workflow for a construction PM tool I’m building

Introducing BuildFlow: Streamlined Document Management for Small Construction Teams

At every construction site, efficient communication and seamless document handling are vital for project success. Recognizing this need, Iโ€™ve been developing a new tool called BuildFlow, specifically tailored to small construction teams such as contractors and site managers.

One of the latest features I’ve implemented is the document upload system. This allows users to easily upload essential files โ€” including architectural drawings, contracts, and project reports. The system categorizes documents, manages different versions, and clearly displays who uploaded each file, ensuring transparency and organized record-keeping. The implementation emphasizes simplicity and speed, avoiding unnecessary complexity for a more intuitive user experience.

Built using Laravel 12 paired with React through Inertia.js, this upload feature leverages Laravelโ€™s local storage for handling files, providing a reliable and efficient solution. My goal with BuildFlow is to address common pain points faced by smaller construction teams โ€” from relying on fragmented communication channels like WhatsApp chats to managing PDFs scattered across different devices and lacking proper version control.

As I continue developing BuildFlow, I welcome feedback on enhancing the user experience or strategies for scaling the platform as user demands grow. Your insights could prove invaluable in creating a tool that genuinely simplifies construction project management.

Stay tuned for more updates on BuildFlowโ€™s journey to streamline construction workflows!
