Experimenting with ChatGPT SEO

Exploring ChatGPT for SEO

Has anyone tried using ChatGPT for SEO?

I’ve been testing it out a bit to understand how it functions, and here are my observations so far:

  1. Surprisingly, it appears to pull data from LinkedIn posts. Engaging posts seem to be particularly favored by ChatGPT.
  2. I also noticed that it draws information from Instagram for brand-specific searches.
  3. There’s a significant amount of content sourced from Reddit discussions and TrustPilot reviews.
  4. Interestingly, it seems to overlook the significance of Nofollow backlinks. As long as a brand is mentioned, even in low-quality outlets like obscure journal press releases, it still gets cited.

These are my findings so far. Has anyone else discovered anything similar? As search behavior increasingly shifts towards AI-driven engines, I believe it’s crucial to understand how to optimize for ChatGPT SEO.

One response to “Experimenting with ChatGPT SEO”

  1. It’s interesting to see your insights on how ChatGPT seems to leverage data from various social media platforms and discussion forums for SEO. Here are a few thoughts:

    1. Source Diversity: It’s fascinating that ChatGPT pulls data from platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Reddit. This diversity in sources could help create well-rounded content, but it also raises questions about the reliability of the information being pulled. I wonder how ChatGPT prioritizes or assesses the credibility of these sources.

    2. Nofollow Links: Your observation about Nofollow backlinks is intriguing. It does seem like the relevance of the mention can sometimes outweigh the link type in terms of perceived authority. It would be beneficial to further investigate how this impacts SEO rankings and brand visibility.

    3. Engagement Metrics: The engagement factor on platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram is significant. It might be worth looking at how the level of interaction (likes, shares, comments) on that content influences ChatGPT’s output and whether this translates to SEO effectiveness in terms of search rankings.

    4. AI-Driven Shifts: As search behavior evolves with AI integration, it’s critical for marketers to adapt their strategies. This might mean focusing on creating engaging content across various platforms and optimizing for AI understanding, rather than solely traditional SEO tactics.

    5. Future Experimentation: I’m curious if anyone has experimented with specific tactics or types of content that seem to work better with ChatGPT’s data sourcing. It might be beneficial to share strategies on optimizing content for AI-driven search engines as they continue to evolve.

Looking forward to hearing more from others on their findings!
