Building a Personal Blog: From Backend Developer to Front-End Designer
As a seasoned .NET backend developer, I typically work behind the scenes, managing systems that remain invisible to end-users. Venturing into creating a publicly accessible website was a new and exciting challenge for meโespecially since I usually focus on server-side programming rather than front-end design.
My goal was to develop a straightforward, lightweight platform to share my insights and showcase some of the reusable libraries I’ve crafted over time. After exploring various options, I settled on 11ty (Eleventy) due to its impressive speed and minimalistic approach, which suited my goal perfectly.
Throughout this project, I gained valuable new skills and insightsโan enriching experience that breaks from my usual routines of memory optimization, garbage collection tuning, and multithreading troubleshooting.
Today, Iโm excited to share my creation: the ByteAether Blog. To highlight its performance, Iโve included Lighthouse performance benchmarks. I hope you find the content engaging and perhaps even inspired to embark on your own web development journey!
