From Backend Developer to Blogger: Building My Personal Site with WordPress and Custom CSS
As a seasoned backend developer specializing in .NET, my expertise has traditionally revolved around intricate systems and server-side developmentโareas often hidden from the end user. Venturing into creating a public-facing website was an entirely new experience, one that pushed me beyond my usual comfort zone.
My goal was to craft a simple, fast, and streamlined platform to share my insights and display the reusable libraries I’ve developed over time. Although I initially explored static site generators like 11ty for their speed and minimalism, I ultimately decided to build my personal blog using WordPress, leveraging its flexibility and widespread support.
This project has been an enlightening journey, allowing me to deepen my understanding of frontend design and styling. Itโs a refreshing departure from my typical tasks such as memory management, optimizing system performance, or debugging complex multithreaded applications.
Today, Iโm excited to share my work with you: ByteAether Blog. Iโve included performance benchmarks and hope you find the content both interesting and inspiring. I look forward to engaging with the community and continuously refining this new venture.
