Building a Personal Blog as a Backend Developer: Sharing My Journey with CSS and Design

As a seasoned .NET backend developer, I typically spend my days immersed in complex, behind-the-scenes systems that few users ever see. Venturing into the realm of front-end development and creating a publicly accessible website was a new and exciting challenge for me.

My goal was to develop a simple, lightweight platform where I could share my thoughts, insights, and showcase some of the reusable libraries I’ve developed over time. After considering various options, I chose 11ty (Eleventy) because of its reputation for speed and straightforward setup.

Throughout this project, I’ve gained valuable experience and a fresh perspective on web development. Itโ€™s been a refreshing break from the usual technical challenges like optimizing memory utilization, managing garbage collection, or debugging complex multithreaded issues.

Today, Iโ€™m excited to share my Saturday showcase: the ByteAether Blog. Included are Lighthouse performance benchmarks, which highlight the efficiency of the site. I hope you’ll find the content engaging and perhaps gain some inspiration for your own projects! If youโ€™re interested in the CSS styles and design choices I used, Iโ€™d be happy to share that as well.

Thanks for taking the time to explore my work!
