How do we define artificial intelligence (AI)?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence processes by computer systems. These processes include learning (the acquisition of information and rules for using it), reasoning (the use of rules to reach approximate or definite conclusions), and self-correction. AI systems can be classified into two main types: narrow AI, which is designed to perform a specific task, and general AI, which possesses the ability to understand, learn, and apply knowledge across a wide range of tasks, similar to a human.

AI technologies encompass various subfields, such as Machine Learning, where algorithms are trained on data to improve their accuracy over time; natural language processing, which enables machines to understand and respond to human language; and computer vision, which allows computers to interpret and manipulate visual data from the world. The applications of AI are vast, ranging from virtual assistants and self-driving cars to medical diagnosis and financial forecasting, significantly impacting various industries and aspects of daily life.
