How would you define artificial intelligence (AI)?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, particularly computer systems. These processes include learning (the acquisition of information and rules for using it), reasoning (the ability to solve problems using the information), and self-correction. AI encompasses a wide range of technologies and methods, including Machine Learning (where systems learn from data), natural language processing (allowing machines to understand and respond to human language), robotics (machines designed to perform tasks in the physical world), and computer vision (the capability of machines to interpret and understand visual information).

The ultimate goal of AI is to create systems that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as recognizing patterns, making decisions, understanding languages, and navigating complex environments. AI can be classified into two main categories: narrow AI, which is designed for a specific task (like voice assistants or recommendation systems), and general AI, which would possess the ability to perform any intellectual task that a human can do, though this level of AI has not yet been achieved. AI is being applied across various fields, including healthcare, finance, automotive, and entertainment, revolutionizing how we interact with technology and enhancing human capabilities.
