I Developed a Scrum Poker App Because Existing Options Were Full of Ads, Not Free, or Limited

Introducing a Clean & Free Scrum Poker Tool for Agile Teams

In the world of agile project management, teams often rely on digital tools to facilitate smooth planning sessions. However, many existing options come with drawbacksโ€”be it intrusive ads, restrictive access, or paid features. To address these issues, I developed a straightforward, ad-free Scrum Poker application designed to streamline story point estimations without unnecessary clutter.

This simple platform allows team members to log in as guests and collaboratively vote on user story estimates. While my team has used other tools in the past, we frequently encountered issues with ads, which disrupted our focus. Ad blockers provided some relief, but their inconsistency and our browser restrictionsโ€”particularly with browsers like Braveโ€”made the experience less than ideal.

My goal is to create niche yet genuinely useful web applications that bypass subscription models and minimize reliance on intrusive advertisingโ€”making basic productivity tools accessible and hassle-free.

Additionally, building this app provided an excellent opportunity to familiarize myself with the Mercure protocol, enhancing my understanding of real-time web technologies.
