I made a scrum poker app coz the other ones had too many ads, weren’t free or had restrictions.

Introducing a Simpler, Ad-Free Scrum Poker Tool for Agile Teams

In the world of agile project management, having an intuitive and unobtrusive tool for estimating story points is essential. Recognizing the limitations of existing optionsโ€”ranging from intrusive advertisements to usage restrictionsโ€”I decided to develop my own lightweight Scrum Poker application.

This new platform offers a straightforward experience: team members can log in as guests and cast their votes on user story estimates seamlessly. Designed with usability in mind, it eliminates the clutter and distractions common with many free tools, ensuring your focus remains on the task at hand.

My team previously relied on a popular Scrum Poker solution, but its abundance of ads and occasional browser restrictions, particularly on secure or locked-down browsers like Brave, hampered our productivity. By creating this custom app, I aim to provide a clutter-free, accessible alternative for agile teams seeking a distraction-free environment.

Beyond the immediate goal of easing our workflow, building this application also served as an excellent opportunity to deepen my understanding of real-time web protocols such as Mercure. It’s rewarding to see how these new insights translate into practical tools.

My goal is to continue developing niche yet highly useful tools to help teams stay focused and boost productivity, while also steering clear of the endless subscription fees that plague many online services.
