Introducing a Fresh Solution for Agile Teams: A No-Ads, Free Scrum Poker Web App

In the dynamic world of software development, efficient project management tools are essential—especially when it comes to planning meetings like sprint estimations. Recognizing the limitations of existing tools—riddled with ads, restrictive in features, or not entirely free—I decided to develop a straightforward, user-friendly Scrum Poker application tailored for agile teams.

This web-based tool allows team members to join effortlessly via guest login and cast their votes on story points for various user stories. Designed with simplicity in mind, it eliminates unnecessary distractions and focuses solely on facilitating quick and effective planning sessions.

The motivation behind this project stemmed from personal experience with other Scrum Poker apps that, while functional, often came with intrusive advertisements or restrictions that hindered seamless usage—especially in environments with browser limitations. For instance, ad blockers occasionally failed to remove ads entirely, and certain browsers like Brave posed compatibility issues.

My goal is to create niche yet practical tools that reduce dependency on paid subscriptions and mitigate the clutter often associated with free software. This project not only serves as a useful resource for agile teams but also provided an excellent opportunity to deepen my understanding of the Mercure protocol, a real-time messaging technology.
