Beware of Scams: How Creators Are Exploiting Trust in Online Projects

In the digital world, opportunities abound—yet, so do risks. Recently, I encountered a situation that highlights the importance of vigilance when collaborating with unfamiliar individuals online.

Initially, my main motivation was simply to immerse myself in new projects without concern for financial compensation. I was open-minded and eager to contribute, ideally within a cooperative and transparent workflow. As the conversation progressed, everything seemed straightforward and promising—until the request for unprecedented access to my computer surfaced.

This request raised red flags. Given that I already hold a full-time position, I was considering a partnership that emphasized collaboration rather than invasive control. The notion of granting remote access to my personal or work devices struck me as excessive, and rightly so.
