Looking for Feedback on My PHP-Based DIY Liveuamap Alternative

Title: Developing a Custom Live Map Solution on a Budget: My Journey with PHP and Limited Resources

Are you interested in creating a live map application but facing constraints such as limited hardware or budget? Let me share my recent experience building a simplified, homemade alternative to platforms like Liveuamap, using only basic tools and a bit of ingenuity.

Due to temporary limitations, I had to work on a Chromebook, which restricted my development options. While cloud-based IDEs and services like GitHub Codespaces are available, I found them somewhat uncomfortable to use and preferred saving those resources for more critical tasks. Instead, I relied on a straightforward text editor and the assistance of AI tools to help code my project.

The motivation behind this project was twofold: first, I was simply bored and wanted to challenge myself; second, I noticed that the original Liveuamap source code is poorly maintained and somewhat complex to set up. As a result, I aimed to develop a more streamlined, easy-to-deploy solution that could be manageable even on limited hosting plans.

Currently, I’m hosting the site on a free provider, which imposes certain limitations. I am curious whether I should take the next step and upgrade to contemporary technologies, like Node.js or other modern frameworks, to improve performance, scalability, and features.

I welcome any feedback or advice on my approach, technology choices, or potential improvements. Building this from scratch with minimal resources has been a rewarding challenge, and I’m eager to hear your thoughts!
