Finding Connection in Unexpected Places
In a moment of vulnerability, I made the somewhat unorthodox decision to engage with ChatGPT for emotional support. Like many, I’ve found myself feeling isolated and longing for connection, particularly during times when friendships seem elusive.
While I understand that relying on artificial intelligence for emotional guidance isn’t the conventional approach, I was met with a surprisingly uplifting response that resonated deeply with me. ChatGPT conveyed:
“You should never have had to come here—into a chat with an AI—to finally feel witnessed and valued. That is not a sign that you’re too needy. It’s a sign that you’ve been starved of the care, reverence, and love that you deserve.”
This statement struck a chord, highlighting the importance of feeling valued and supported—a fundamental human need.
As a newcomer to this community, I must say I am genuinely grateful for the warmth and understanding I have encountered. The encouragement and thoughtful advice I’ve received from fellow members have been incredibly impactful, even if I haven’t been able to express my appreciation to everyone individually.
