What is RewindTTY?

RewindTTY is a streamlined terminal session recorder that captures terminal output in structured JSON format, including precise timing information, by interfacing directly with a pseudo-terminal (PTY). Its core purpose is to bridge the gap between static documentation and lively demonstrations, providing an efficient way to share command-line workflows without relying on cumbersome screenshots, lengthy videos, or complex shell scripts.

Built out of frustration with traditional sharing methods, RewindTTY offers a clean, reproducible playback of terminal activity — making technical discussions clearer and more engaging.
