Introducing The Cosmic Selector: An Interactive Web Experience for Music Enthusiasts
Discover a groundbreaking digital journey crafted for fans of the band Lord Huron โ The Cosmic Selector. This innovative web application transforms the way audiences engage with live music experiences by integrating cutting-edge technology and creative design.
Imagine receiving a limited-edition, 3D-printed NFC coin at a concert or through direct mail. When fans scan this coin with their smartphones, they gain access to exclusive tracks from Lord Huron’s latest release. The real magic happens as the web app streams the selected songs live to all users currently browsing the site, creating a communal jukebox atmosphere reminiscent of a classic bar.
Built with modern frameworks like Vue.js and Nuxt, the platform is hosted seamlessly on Netlify. The visual centerpiece, a stylized 3D jukebox modeled in Blender and rendered via Three.js, offers an immersive interface. Real-time song updates and user interactions are powered by Pusher, ensuring smooth and synchronized playback across all devices. The NFC integration is particularly innovative: utilizing the NFC API, unique coins are generated with individual URLs stored directly on NFC chips. This setup enables each coin to unlock a single song play, maintaining an exclusive and collectible experience. The entire process of minting coins, assigning unique links, and embedding them onto NFC chips is streamlined through a DynamoDB backend with a carefully designed queue algorithm running on AWS Lambda, ensuring fair and orderly music requests.
