Variation 15: “Brian RSS – Custom RSS Feed Featuring Your Favorite Books”

Introducing Brian RSS: A Personalized, AI-Powered Book Feed for Book Enthusiasts

Are you passionate about reading and always looking for new ways to stay inspired? Today, I’m excited to share a project I’ve been developing that combines the power of AI with your love of books. Meet Brian RSS—a custom RSS feed creator that curates daily content tailored to your favorite reading material.

What is Brian RSS?

Brian RSS is a sophisticated tool designed to generate a unique, personalized RSS feed based on your selected books. It leverages artificial intelligence to extract insights, summaries, or interesting excerpts from your reading list and presents them as bite-sized updates. Additionally, each entry is transformed into an audio snippet, allowing you to listen to the content as if it were a mini podcast—perfect for listening on the go.

The name “Brian” is a playful anagram of “brain,” emphasizing its focus on stimulating your mind.

Core Features:

  • Custom Content Generation: Input your reading list, and Brian RSS will select random sections from your books to generate insightful summaries or highlights.
  • Audio Integration: Every update includes an audio version, making it easy to consume content through listening.
  • Scheduled Updates: The feed updates automatically every day at 6 AM UTC, ensuring fresh content without manual intervention.
  • Self-Hosting: Built to be run locally via Docker, giving you full control over your data and setup.

Origin Story

Initially crafted for personal use, I found it incredibly useful to receive quick intelligence bites from my favorite books. Realizing its potential to benefit others, I decided to open-source the project, making it accessible to the broader community.
