Introducing yWhois: Enhanced IP, Domain, and ASN Lookup with RDAP Support

In the ever-evolving landscape of internet infrastructure, obtaining accurate and timely information about IP addresses, domains, and ASN details is more important than ever. To address this need, I’m excited to introduce the latest updates to yWhois, a robust tool designed for comprehensive IP, domain, and Autonomous System Number lookups using the latest RDAP protocol.

Since launching yWhois last year, I’ve been diligently working to improve its performance and reliability. One of the key challenges was managing rate-limiting issues that arose during high traffic periods. To overcome this, I’ve integrated multiple worker servers into the architecture, significantly enhancing throughput and ensuring consistent service even under heavy load.

It’s somewhat perplexing that a registrar’s RDAP server enforces such restrictive API limits for a service meant to be a modern replacement for traditional WHOIS queries—especially given the API’s intended role as a public-facing, accessible standard. Nonetheless, I remain committed to refining yWhois to provide a more seamless and reliable experience.
