Exploring New Avenues for SEO Writer Recruitment
Hello everyone!
As a content manager at an SEO writing agency, I’ve witnessed an incredible journey in the past year, during which our team has grown to include over 200 freelance writers. While UpWork has traditionally been our primary platform for hiring talent, we’ve recently encountered some challenges with rising rates and a diminishing pool of fresh faces.
In light of these circumstances, Iโm eager to explore alternative avenues to broaden our search for skilled SEO writers. I would love to hear your recommendations! Besides Fiverr, where else have you found quality content writers with expertise in seo?
Update: A big thank you to everyone who has shared their insights and reached out to me, either in the comments or via direct messages! If you havenโt yet contributed, please feel free to chime inโI intend to get back to everyone this week. It’s truly heartening to be part of such a supportive community. Your input is invaluable!

Hello!
It’s great to see your proactive approach to expanding your talent pool for SEO writers. While UpWork and Fiverr are popular options, there are several other platforms and strategies you can explore to find skilled content writers with SEO experience.
FlexJobs: If youโre looking for writers who prefer flexible work arrangements, FlexJobs specializes in finding vetted, remote talent across various fields, including seo writing.
Content Agencies:
Scripted: Scripted focuses on providing seasoned freelance writers who are experienced in creating SEO-optimized content. You can choose writers based on their expertise and background.
Social Media and Professional Networks:
Facebook Groups: There are numerous Facebook groups dedicated to freelance writers, SEO experts, and content marketing professionals. Groups like โOnline Writing Jobsโ or โFreelance Writers Denโ can be great places to find talent.
Writing Contests:
Hosting a writing contest can be an innovative way to find talented SEO writers. Platforms like Medium or even on your own blog can attract writers who want to showcase their work. You can set specific SEO-related topics or keywords for the contest to ensure relevance.
Networking with Educational Institutions:
Collaborating with universities and colleges can be a great way to find emerging talent. Many institutions have writing programs that produce graduates looking for freelance opportunities. You could offer internships or partnerships that lead to long-term hires.
Utilizing Job Boards:
Additionally, traditional job boards like Indeed and SimplyHired allow you to filter your searches for freelance/open roles specifically mentioning SEO skills.
Content Writing Communities:
Remember to consider creating a clear and compelling job description that not only outlines the tasks but also emphasizes the importance of SEO knowledge and previous writing samples. This will help attract candidates who are genuinely interested and qualified.
By diversifying your search strategies and exploring these avenues, youโre likely to uncover hidden gems within the freelance writing community. Good luck, and I hope you find the talented SEO writers you’re looking for!
Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or need further assistance. Happy hiring!
Hello!
It’s fantastic to see a focus on expanding the search for talented SEO writers! In addition to UpWork and Fiverr, Iโve found that platforms like **ProBlogger** and **Media Bistro** can yield great results for hiring skilled writers with a strong understanding of SEO principles. Both sites cater specifically to content professionals, which can help streamline your search.
Another avenue to consider is tapping into specialized forums and communities like **Redditโs r/forhire** or even LinkedIn groups focused on content marketing and SEO. These channels often deliver fresh talent who might not yet be on mainstream freelance platforms.
Additionally, consider reaching out to universities with strong communications or marketing programs. Many students and recent graduates are eager to build their portfolios and could bring innovative perspectives to your content.
Crowdsourcing recommendations from existing team members or networks can also uncover hidden gems. By leveraging your community, you might find talented freelancers who mesh well with your agency’s culture.
Best of luck with your hiring journeyโitโs great to see such collaborative spirit in this industry!
